Overview:

One of the biggest banks in the European Union is seeking a Production Support. The profile will be responsible globally for technical support and project deliveries. The Production Engineer will be part of a multi-disciplined team, providing support to the production elements  of the applications. The role is centered on technical application support and requires a wide range of technical skills. The Production Engineer will also work with other teams to respond to incidents and resolve issues promptly, often under pressure, to restore normal services to the business. Therefore, ability to be on call and provide support out of hours is essential. As this is a production support role, focusing across a range of different technologies, candidates must possess the aptitude and desire to learn.

What will you do?

• Pro-actively monitor, manage and improve availability and performance of the production environments (from presentation and application layers to middleware and databases)
• Provide escalation coverage in the “Follow The Sun” support model
• Pro-actively manage the capacity of production applications
• Customize production tools (monitoring, batch scheduling, backups, deployment tools, automation)
• Provide feedback and propose solutions to management on performance and capacity

What are we looking for?

• Experience with System administration – experience on Windows and Linux/Unix systems : IIS, .NET, WCF, Weblogic Application Server, Apache, Tomcat, Java EE, Nginx
• Experience with Monitoring & Scheduling – experience of some of the following preferable: Geneos, Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus & DollarUniverse
• Experience with Scripting (Python, Shell, SQL....) and development skills for administration, monitoring and support tools. Practice on Ansible / Terraform automation
• Appreciation of production processes, including change and release management; incident and problem management skills, with knowledge of ITIL
• Experience with Databases – SQL Server and Oracle
• Fluent in English.
